Thorough examination, clear findings
Skin Cancer Checks
A thorough, full-body skin examination is the most effective way to detect skin cancer early. Our practitioner uses dermoscopy — a specialised magnification technique — to examine moles, lesions, and other skin changes in detail.
What's included
- Full-body skin examination, your doctor will review your medical history
- Dermoscopy for detailed lesion analysis
- Assessment of high-risk areas
- Clear explanation of findings
- Personalised follow-up plan
How to prepare for your skin check
- 1Remove nail polish from fingers and toes so nails can be examined
- 2Wear loose, easy-to-remove clothing
- 3Please do not wear makeup
- 4Bring a list of any moles or spots you're concerned about
- 5Let us know if you have a personal or family history of skin cancer
Who should have skin checks?
Recommended annually for all adults, and more frequently for those with a personal or family history of melanoma or other skin cancers, fair skin, lots of moles/freckles or significant sun exposure. Note: Melanoma is also the most common cancer in young Australians aged 15-39.
Track changes with precision
Mole Mapping (coming soon)
Mole mapping uses advanced digital imaging to create a detailed photographic record of your skin. This baseline allows our practitioners to monitor changes over time and identify any lesions that may require further investigation.
What's included
- Full-body digital photography
- High-resolution lesion imaging
- Comparison against previous records
- Identification of new or changing lesions
- Secure digital record keeping
Who should have skin checks?
Particularly beneficial for patients with many moles, a history of melanoma, or a strong family history of skin cancer. Typically reviewed every 12 months.
